This one started out as me trying to make a beat for Sam Kless. then i found that weird lil flute & it fell out of "Sam" character pretty quick thereafter. Chazz & i had dinner plans that evening, and i was not ready for him to pick me up cuz i was working on the beat. I asked him what he thought & if it would be something he'd wanna write to. he loved it & we left for Koko Kitchen. he came back over weeks later & we recorded vocals. I think his fave part of the song is where we both sing "i think i got too stoooooooooooned." My fave part is the off-time pitch shifted bridge. Chazz sounds great w/autotune & i'm honored that he blessed this tape with his lyrics & personality. Two Z's, no cap.

One of the first beats i made w/o the mind to make it into an Eichlers song. I love the fucking video game-ass thing at the bridge where the 808 comes in, it still gets me every time. Zach & i recorded their vocals for this on July 4, before heading over to Tommy's for a pOol party. The high "i love love love you so" in that last chorus always sends shivers down my spine. Zach did a remix of "love me forever" a few months back & it's better than the OG tbh.

I spend 40hrs a week in a parking lot, hearing to car alarms go off all day long. This is my "car alarm type beat," heavily inspired by "Live Sheck Wes." I wanted it to sound super minimalist & ignorant. I asked Ash to collab and they freestyled that wild descending hook, then we did nothing with it for months. One day we came back to it & wrote all the lyrics on a walk to&from 7-11. The content is so silly & the word play is so sick. Volly's feat. was a dream come true. She's is my fave vocalist & her band VANTANA ROW is a big part of why I wanted to experiment with electronic music. Her feature during the panic chord part breathed a new energy into the song that rlly carries it into the ending chorus. This track makes me wanna kick a building.

I made this beat rlly fast for the last CARRY ON, KID show @ the Underground, as something to play over the PA after their set. Christian (vox guitar) was like "dude wtf is this." I asked Rob (Hidden Home Records) to write for it & he was skeptical. What he came with is maybe (?) the catchiest hook of the tape. I'll let u decide. He told me i could call it whatever i wanted lol

This was the last song recorded for the tape. It's a gooood beat i'd been sitting on for a long time, waiting for the perfect inspo to strike. Kenna was the pefect fit for it. We started writing over the summer, but got busy and the collab fell thru the cracks. We picked it back up at the end of the year, enlisted Ash's help, and made this amazing song. Like, holy shit, i'm appalled at how good this one turned out. Ash & Kenna wrote the lyrics & melody, I cannot take credit for that lol. S/o Alexander Pfunk

Derek & i have been OBSESSED with the podcast Blink-155 since the summer. In the fall, they announced they would be doing the song "Life's So Boring," an instrumental track from the Enema demo, for their next episode, and asked listeners to write & submit lyrics for the demo to be played on the episode. Derek txt'd me right away and said we should submit a song; they'd write the lyrics if i would sing them. I suggested that, since i'd been wanting to sample that bassline since i started producing (it was one of my fav blink songs in highschool), we do one better and make a whole-ass song. This is that whole-ass song. Blink-155 played it on the pod, the hosts loved it, & they even put it on their bandcamp compilation of submissions from the episode. I love Derek so much & am so glad we could make music in this capacity for such a fun reason.

The first thing i prod. for the tape, this beat gave me the idea to do a collab-mixtape. I was listening to that first G*cs EP whilst on a walk to 7-11 (themes!) & got home before the final track of the EP could play. I rushed upstairs, sat down at my lappy, and this track came out. I sent it to Val & asked them to plsplspls write something for it since it was soooooo G*cs. They obliged and we recorded many different vocal takes and tweaked a lot of the production, eventually ending up at this nXc masterpiece yr hearing rn. I love mishearing that one line as "dude, sup? can u fix my teeth?"
fuck teeth xD

I love Sam's scream and wanted to involve him in the mixtape somehow, so why not have him scream some sad shit over a blink beat? I find my vocal soOoO cringey and not rlly in key, but it's also so sick. that lil groove when same goes into "im a waste of space" is my fave part. the crazy pitched scream was added in the mixing process, way way way after the fact cuz i didn't wanna set up a mic to scream it myself lol

As soon as i locked in that banjo sample, i knew i had to get Kale to write for this one. I don't think i'd really heard Kale sing-sing before (they're, like, the *star* screamer of our scene), so the melody they brought to the song shook me & their hook was stuck in my head for WEEKS. I'm glad they let me keep the whip-crack sound, for the full western effect hehe

This is the only sample i had to clear for the album. It's almost a straight cut from KIDCRASH's "Kissed By A Roach From The Grave," with some slight rearrangement. s/o to the folks from KIDCRASH for letting me use it. Clark & Scott each gave me N I N E vocal tracks to mix. I got home from doing the tracking & was so overwhelmed with the amount of vocals that I didn't touch the project for a long, long time. Scott wrote some beautiful keys & aux instrumentation for the bridge that really took the song to the next level, as well as that clutch lil hook at the outro. Clark did each of his signature vocal inflections ("Flat Bowie" is my fave, see if u can pick it out of the gang), and i mixed them in a way that sounds how "Garden Of Earthly Delights" looks; chaotic elements on a serene background. RIP Sizzler.

Tut absolutely blew me out of the water with this one. They were really apprehensive when we got together to record, but as soon as they started singing, I knew the song would be great. This is the most intimate track on the tape and the simplicity of the hook's lyrics really cut right through to you. I'm calling this one the "sleeper hit," for sure.

This was supposed to be on 'comfort,' but didn't really make sense anywhere in the tracklist. I originally wanted Ash to do a feature on it, but we were never able to make it happen and I thought that Andrew would be able to bring some sparkle to it, and I was RIGHT! holyshit, i love his verse so much. it's almost always stuck in my head and pulls my heartstrings in the best way possible.
